Thunderbird Awarded 5-Year IH Contract at Charleston, SC VA Campus

In February 2025 Thunderbird Environmental was award a 5-year "on-call" Industrial Hygiene Services contract at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina. Our team of licensed hazardous building materials surveyors and industrial hygienists look forward to the opportunity to assist the VA and its Charleston campus staff with their ongoing mission to serve those who have served in the nation's military.

Thunderbird Assisting VA with NEPA tasks in Helena, Montana

Throughout the Winter of 2025, Thunderbird Environmental provided NEPA support services to the VA at the Fort Harrison VA Medical Center in Helena, Montana. The Thunderbird team of NEPA practitioners assist the VA and its facility staff throughout the U.S. with their ongoing NEPA compliance needs.

Jessie Hittle and Sumarni Bennett Join the Thunderbird Team

Jessie Hittle joined the Thunderbird Team of professionals as a Marketing and Business Development Assistant in December 2024. Jessie is a 2024 graduate of Falmouth University (Cornwall County UK), where she earned a BA in Acting. Jessie was born and raised on the Connecticut shoreline, but now resides in London, England where she she continues to pursue her acting career.

Sumarni Bennett joined the Thunderbird Team of professionals as an Environmental Scientist in December 2024. Sumarni is a 2018 graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University, where she earned BS in Environmental Earth Science. Born and raised in Bridgeport, CT, Sumarni enjoys thrifting, traveling, and tennis.

Annual Christmas Party!

In December 2024, Thunderbird staff members and friends gathered at a favorite local restaurant, La Foresta, for a lovely dinner to celebrate the holiday season. The party was filled with laughter, raucous conversations, and fantastic food and beverages. As Thunderbird's 10th annual Christmas Party, the event was another TBird business milestone to celebrate.

Backwoods Bar Tour 2025 Update

In February 2025, Thunderbird founder and President, Darby Hittle, checked off a long-time bucket list item by play playing a one-night-only solo acoustic show at the American Legion Post 495 in Shickshinny, PA. It was an enjoyable evening with a fun crowd of American Legion fans all screaming "Play Something We Known" !

Also in February 2025, Darby hosted the 32nd Annual "Dead of Winter Jam" at the Central Park Hotel in Benton, PA. The first annual DOW JAM occurred in 1993 when three friends, Darby Hittle, Bryan Campbell, and Rob Watson took their guitars to the Central Park Hotel and played all night and into the next morning for the local Keystone crowd. All these years later, the original band members are still making the annual trek to the mountains of PA in February where there is much whiskey, bluegrass, and laughter for one night each year!
